Even if you’re not a marijuana user, you are probably aware that the cannabis industry in Denver is booming, and in recent months, there has been such a high demand for all types of marijuana (edibles, included), companies like Ms. Mary Staffing are necessary to keep stores staffed with experienced, knowledgeable budtenders.
Residents of Denver and surrounding communities who walk into a marijuana store expect the employees to know their product, and with more and more people buying marijuana for medicinal and recreational purposes, the demand for pot stores and employees to work in those stores continues to grow by leaps and bounds.
According to the Huffington Post, the legal marijuana industry brought in $2.4 billion in 2014—a figure that indicates an increase of 74% in one year’s time, and it is estimated that the total legal market could be worth $11 billion as early as 2019. Because Colorado was a frontrunner in the national race to legalize marijuana, Denver has certainly contributed to those numbers and will continue to do so for decades to come. Tourism in Denver is up; more people are moving to Denver; and Colorado’s legalization of marijuana is no longer the butt of jokes in the media, by politicians and by citizens of the U.S.
People from all walks of life are noticing what the cannabis industry is doing to the growth and development of Denver as a city, and the positive results of the boom in the cannabis industry in Denver are prompting many other states to take action to make the growing, selling and using of small amounts of recreational marijuana legal.
According to a recent report in the Huffington Post, “The total market value of all states legalizing marijuana would top $36.8 billion—more than $3 billion larger than the organic food industry.” You just can’t argue with cold hard facts; the marijuana industry in Denver and other cities in which it’s been made legal is “more valuable than the entire organic food industry,” the report asserts.
According to a report published by the Colorado Department of Revenue, “There are an estimated 485,000 adult regular marijuana users who consumer marijuana at least once per month…representing 9% of the 2014…population in Colorado of 5.363 million residents. Another 201,000 adult residents reported using marijuana within the past year, which is 38% of state population.”
This is just a small sampling of how huge the cannabis industry is in Denver and a clear indication of what’s to come. If you are interested in learning more about this booming industry or would like to apply for budtender jobs in and around Denver, please contact Ms. Mary Staffing today.
